The effect of chronic stress can have an impact on your body and mind that lasts a lifetime. I know. I’ve been there. I talk about this in the memoir of my 50-year career in nursing. I started by working in a hospital kitchen, then an associate program, continuing on to my Ph.D. All this while being a single mom and caretaker for my parents. I had very little help, especially managing schoolwork. I was determined. I wanted to succeed and do well. But eventually, my immune system broke down with consequences I must still manage.
You don’t have to reach that breaking point. Support can make a real difference.
My daughter recently told me that she didn’t feel especially smart, but she did well because she was very good at learning. She’s learned how to work smarter – not harder! You can too. I'm an experienced professor who provides private and confidential tutoring for nursing students.

Below are some of the ways I support graduate nursing students — from academic tutoring to mentoring through the personal and professional pressures that come with advanced study.

Writing academic papers is one of the most challenging parts of graduate nursing education. Students come from diverse academic backgrounds, and many are working in a second language. It can feel overwhelming — but it doesn’t have to be.
With clear strategies, structure, and guidance, writing can become manageable and even empowering.
I offer private, confidential mentoring to help you strengthen your thinking, organize your ideas, and communicate them clearly.

Your initial post is usually weighted a little heavier than subsequent posts. Doing this will get you off to a good start in any discussion. There are three key pieces: you need substantive content, evidence of critical thinking, and good supporting references. I can help! I provide private, confidential mentoring to help you craft thoughtful, well-structured contributions that reflect graduate-level scholarship and position you for success.
Private and Confidential

Every institution or organization has its own culture.
Unfortunately, harmful dynamics such as bullying, racism, ageism, and other forms of discrimination can occur in academic settings. At times, these experiences involve peers — and at other times, regrettably, faculty or leadership.
You do not have to navigate these situations alone. I offer private, confidential mentoring to help you think through challenges, understand options, and decide next steps that align with your values and goals.

With more than fifty years in nursing education and practice, I bring depth, perspective, and steadiness to every conversation.
Not sure what kind of support would be most helpful?
You’re welcome to reach out with questions or to talk through your situation. Sometimes a brief conversation is all it takes to clarify next steps.
