Nursing education is meaningful work — and it exists within complex academic cultures. When those cultures clash with your values, the result can be stress, moral distress, or isolation.
I’ve studied and written about organizational culture in nursing education, and I understand how challenging these environments can feel.
If you’ve ever experienced tension between your values and your institution’s expectations, you are not alone.
Often, it helps to have a trusted colleague outside your institution — someone who can offer perspective, clarity, and seasoned insight.
If you would like support navigating a challenging situation within your academic setting, I offer private, confidential mentoring for nurse educators.

Teaching online is not simply transferring classroom methods to a digital space. It requires a different mindset and intentional design. I have created and taught online courses for more than thirty years across multiple platforms. Over time, I’ve learned that student engagement, clarity, and thoughtful course structure are essential for meaningful learning.
Teaching online requires intentional design, strategic engagement, and clear communication. If you would like support developing or refining your approach, I’m here to help.

I am a qualitative researcher by training, and this is the foundation of my scholarly work. Over the years, I have also collaborated on mixed-method proposals and helped build research teams to meet complex project needs.
Throughout my career, I have written multiple grant proposals — some funded, others not — submitted to agencies such as the NIH as well as private foundations. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the grant development process, reviewer expectations, and the persistence required in academic scholarship.
Grant writing and scholarly publishing can feel isolating. Whether you are pursuing a PhD or DNP, or navigating faculty scholarship expectations, I offer experienced, thoughtful feedback to strengthen your work and clarify your scholarly voice.
I have also published in both scholarly journals and the lay press, translating complex ideas for diverse audiences.
Scholarly work is often done independently and with limited support. It does not have to be solitary or overwhelming. I offer private, collegial mentoring to help you move your work forward with clarity and confidence.

In addition to my teaching, I provide mentoring for graduate nursing students and support for nursing faculty.
This work focuses on helping others think more deeply about complex clinical and conceptual questions, connect theory to practice, and navigate the intellectual challenges of advanced nursing work.
I am currently engaged in two research initiatives.
The first is a mixed-method case study examining a rare genetic variant associated with mitochondrial dysfunction, integrating clinical findings with the lived experience of illness.
In parallel, I am developing an international collaboration focused on a mixed-method document analysis exploring how health is understood across four key groups: physicians, nurses, healthcare institutions, and laypersons.
I currently have two manuscripts under review, available as preprints on Zenodo, an open-access repository supported by the European OpenAIRE program. Links to these works are provided below.
I am an active member of the European Academy of Nursing Science, where I serve on the membership committee and participate in ongoing scholarly activities and meetings.
Experience matters. I bring five decades of nursing education to our work together.
